Derived from a combination of our founder's middle name LERATO — meaning Love in her native tongue of Sesotho — and AMINO acids, the building blocks of protein. At Leramino, love and science are not separate things. They are the foundation of everything we make.
Our Mission
Black hair is not a problem to be managed. It is a crown. A story. A living archive of identity, resilience, and culture — worn in coils, kinks, locs, and curls that have been celebrated long before the world caught up.
At Leramino, we exist to honour that. We create science-backed hair care formulated specifically for afro-textured hair — because our hair deserves products made with it in mind, not adapted from formulas built for someone else.
We are committed to three things:
Care. Every product we formulate starts with intention. We use high-quality, purposeful ingredients — hyaluronic acid, sea kelp bioferment, bamboo, ginger root — chosen not for trend, but for what they actually do for textured hair. We believe caring for your crown should feel like an act of love, not a burden.
Science. Our founder's background in analytical laboratory science shapes how we think about every formula. We don't guess. We understand the chemistry of moisture, porosity, and protein — and we build products that work with the biology of your hair, not against it.
Education. Knowledge is power, especially in a market that has long left us without answers. We are committed to breaking down the science behind your hair in ways that are clear, accessible, and empowering — so you can make informed choices about your crown, and pass that wisdom on.
